STL QB Austin Davis - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10: Davis vs. Cardinals
Austin Davis completed 13-of-24 passes for 105 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the Rams’ upset win over the 49ers in Week 9. It was the third straight game that Davis failed to pass for over 200 yards as he continues to regress this season. He looks to bail out of the pocket at the first sign of pressure and the two interceptions he threw versus San Francisco displayed his lack of arm strength and his habit of locking onto receivers. He ranks as our No. 25 QB for Week 10 and should be avoided against a tough Arizona defense.

STL QB Austin Davis - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9: Davis vs. 49ers
Austin Davis completed 15-of-25 passes for 160 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Rams’ Week 8 loss to the Chiefs. The first-year starter was constantly under duress by Kansas City’s pass rush and when he did get the ball off, he couldn’t find many open receivers. From a fantasy perspective, Davis maxes out as a QB2 but there should be better options available on your waiver wire if you’re in a pinch. He’s our No. 25 overall QB for Week 9 and has a bad matchup versus San Francisco.

STL QB Austin Davis - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8: Davis vs. Chiefs
Austin Davis completed 17-of-20 passes for 155 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions in the Rams’ Week 7 win over the Seahawks. After taking too many unnecessary deep shots into double coverage versus the 49ers on Monday night last week, Davis was more conservative against Seattle on Sunday, settling for a lot of passes underneath. He did hit Chris Givens for a 30-yard pass play on a crucial third down in the fourth quarter but otherwise played things safe. While he continues to exceed expectations in St. Louis, Davis is limited to being a QB2 in fantasy leagues. He has a tough matchup on Sunday versus Kansas City and should be avoided in all formats.

STL QB Austin Davis - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7: Davis vs. Seahawks
Austin Davis completed 21-of-42 passes for 236 yards with one touchdown and yet another pick-six (his third of the season) in the Rams' Week 6 loss to the 49ers. The night started off well for Davis, who threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to a wide open Lance Kendricks late in the first quarter. But the Rams offense was a disaster in the second half as San Francisco's defense (playing without Patrick Willis, who left the game with a toe injury) put Davis under heavy duress. He continues to put up adequate numbers but can't be counted on to be a consistent fantasy player. He's a QB2 depending on the matchup and the matchup this week is brutal as Seattle heads to St. Louis fresh off a loss to Dallas. Davis is our No. 27 overall QB for Week 7.

STL QB Austin Davis - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6: Davis vs. 49ers
Austin Davis completed 29-of-49 passes for 375 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Rams' Week 5 loss to the Eagles. He overcame a rough start to the game to nearly lead St. Louis to a dramatic come-from-behind victory in the fourth quarter. It was the second straight game in which he threw for over 300 yards and has now compiled a 6:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio the past two weeks. Unfortunately he has a tough matchup on Monday night versus a San Francisco team that could bring him back to earth. He ranks as our No. 22 overall quarterback for Week 6 and should be considered a QB2.

STL QB Austin Davis - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5: Davis vs. Eagles
Earlier this week Jeff Fisher named Austin Davis his starting quarterback for the rest of the season, which wasn't surprising given Davis' play in the Rams' last two games. After leading the team to a late victory over the Bucs in Week 2, Davis completed 30-of-42 passes for 327 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in Week 3 loss to the Cowboys. Despite his good play Davis remains a QB2 in fantasy leagues, even with a good matchup this week against the Eagles. The Rams will continue to be a run-first team and inconsistent from a scoring standpoint. Davis ranks as our No. 22 QB for Week 5.

STL QB Austin Davis - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3: Davis vs. Cowboys
Austin Davis completed 22-of-29 passes for 235 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions as the Rams defeated the Bucs in Week 2. Davis managed the offense well in his NFL debut and made a great throw down the seams to Austin Pettis on a 3rd-and-9 late in the fourth quarter to set up the eventual game-winning field goal. He's on track to make his second career start on Sunday versus the Cowboys at the Edward Jones Dome. But while Dallas' defense offers a nice matchup for the young signal-caller, Davis ranks as our No. 25 overall QB for Week 3. There are better options available if you're in need of a QB this week.
