NYJ WR Allen Lazard - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Allen Lazard's hasn't had more than 3 receptions in any game this season and his receiving yardage high is 61 a couple weeks ago. Despite being the No. 2 Jets receiver, New York's passing game has limited the receivers.

Even with a favorable matchup against the Philly pass defense, we don't expect much more from Lazard. Keep him on your bench for Week 6.

NYJ WR Allen Lazard - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Denver Broncos
Allen Lazard had his best game as a Jet with three receptions for 61 yards and his first touchdown of the season. With QB Zach Wilson playing his best game. Lazard became fantasy relevant. Of course, we want to see more.

It's an easy matchup this week against a bad Broncos defense, but even with some positives last week. we will keep Lazard on the bench, although he is on the fantasy radar now.

NYJ WR Allen Lazard - 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Familiarity is key as Allen Lazard comes over with new QB Aaron Rodgers to New York. Lazard has proven to be a reliable NFL wide receiver as he set career highs in targets (100) and receptions (60). He also set a career high in receiving yards with 788 although that number might be considered low considering the targets.

Fantasy Downside
Expectations were high last year for Lazard as he stepped into the No. 1 role in Green Bay, but he really didn't excel as much as people thought he would. There are also some other veteran receivers that will compete for targets and receptions.

2023 Bottom Line
Lazard has some fantasy value but as depth only. It will be hard to equal what he did last year and that was considered disappointing to fantasy managers. If he is your fourth or fifth wide receiver, he could end up helping you if there are injuries or during bye weeks, but do not expect him to be in your lineup on a regular basis.

GB WR Allen Lazard - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Minnesota Vikings
Allen Lazard had a great day from a usage perspective in Week 16 when he saw 11 targets, but he was not particularly efficient as he only caught five of them for 61 scoreless yards. The good news is Lazard continues to attract Aaron Rodgers' attention near the goal line with three of his 11 targets coming in the red zone. Green Bay's pass catchers work as a sort of committee with no real alpha, meaning it is difficult to predict where the targets will be funneled on a weekly basis. However, all of them get a great matchup this week against Minnesota's league-worst pass defense. Lazard makes for an interesting WR3 play given his touchdown upside and the soft matchup this week.

GB WR Allen Lazard - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 @ Miami Dolphins
Allen Lazard continues to fade from fantasy relevance in a suddenly-crowded Green Bay receiver room with Romeo Doubs back healthy and Christian Watson emerging as a legitimate weapon as a rookie. Lazard hasn't exceeded WR3 production or scored a touchdown since Week 9 and is now coming off a game where he caught one of two targets for seven yards against the Rams. The Dolphins' middling pass defense is not a concern this week, but Lazard's drop-off in production in recent games is. Lazard cannot be trusted as a legitimate starting option in fantasy right now given what we've seen over the last month.

GB WR Allen Lazard - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Los Angeles Rams
Allen Lazard's steady decline in fantasy relevance continued in Week 13 against the Bears when he only managed 67 scoreless yards on five catches and six targets. While Christian Watson only caught three balls himself, he did manage to find the end zone yet again, and his recent touchdown run is seriously dinging Lazard's fantasy production as Aaron Rodgers' (former) favorite red zone target. This week the Packers travel to LA to take on the Rams, a team that is limping to the finish line in 2022 but still boasts some talented players on defense. Lazard is worth flex consideration as he is still seeing a decent target share from Rodgers, but his floor has been lowered by Watson's emergence and he is a risky start these days.

GB WR Allen Lazard - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Chicago Bears
Allen Lazard has taken a backseat to Christian Watson as Aaron Rodgers' top option the last three weeks. Lazard had 11 targets in Week 11, but he only had seven total in the other two games since Watson's emergence. Lazard also hasn't caught a touchdown since Week 9, which is troubling when red zone production was such a huge part of Lazard's appeal at the start of the year. The Bears are not an imposing matchup, but the Packers are not exactly a high-octane offense and with such a wide distribution of targets amongst the skill players, Lazard is getting lost in the shuffle. It is tough to stomach him as a fantasy starter right now.
