IND RB Jordan Wilkins - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Las Vegas Raiders

Jordan Wilkins got some complementary work last week against the Patriots behind Deon Jackson. Jackson should remain the starter, so there’s not much hope for Wilkins, but his five targets last week are encouraging for managers in PPR leagues. Still, there should be better options available in most leagues, and fantasy managers should leave Wilkins on waivers.

Update: Jackson is out, but Jonathan Taylor looks like he's going to play, so Wilkins remains risky from a workload perspective.

Week 12 vs. Tennessee Titans

Jordan Wilkins was held to five touches last week against the Packers, while Jonathan Taylor received a full workload. One of two things is happening: The Colts are giving Taylor the job, in which case, Wilkins is just a handcuff; or the Colts are wildly inconsistent in divvying up the workload in their backfield, in which case, Wilkins is too risky to trust. Treat him like a handcuff in most leagues.

Update: With Taylor on the COVID list and out for Sunday's tilt against the Titans, Wilkins is likely to get a full-ish workload. He's an RB2 option.

IND RB Jordan Wilkins - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Green Bay Packers

Jordan Wilkins had eight carries for 28 yards last week. He may get hot-hand opportunities if he starts strong against the Packers’ vulnerable run defense, but more likely, he’ll continue to complement Nyheim Hines and Jonathan Taylor. That makes him a risky option, even in a good matchup. If you’re desperate, he has some low-end RB3 value in deep leagues, since eight carries isn’t nothing, but it’s risky to assume he’ll get more work than that. Sit him if you can.

Week 10 at Tennessee Titans

Jordan Wilkins had 11 carries for 39 yards last week, and didn’t fumble the ball, which helped him get touches compared to rookie Jonathan Taylor. The Colts seem to be using all their backs right now, making starting any of them a risky proposition. Wilkins has a nice matchup against the Titans, who rank 26th in aFPA to opposing running backs this season, but without being assured of touches, it’s hard to trust him in most leagues.

IND RB Jordan Wilkins - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Jordan Wilkins got 20 carries against the Lions last week in a blowout victory for the Colts. While some of that was related to game script, some of it due to an ankle issue for Jonathan Taylor, some of it was likely due to the ineffectiveness of Taylor. Monitor this situation closely as the season progresses. For now, add Wilkins to the back end of rosters, but don’t start him unless Taylor is inactive. If Taylor is out, Wilkins becomes a viable fringe-RB2 option against a Baltimore defense that ranks sixth in aFPA to opposing running backs.

IND RB Jordan Wilkins - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Jacksonville Jaguars

Jordan Wilkins saw 34% of the team’s offensive snaps last week, but that was largely because they crushed the Carolina Panthers. In general, expect to see Marlon Mack handling the bulk of the touches and for Wilkins to take a back seat. He’s unlikely to repeat his 84 yards and a touchdown he scored last week, and he should be on waivers in all leagues heading into the final week of the season.

IND RB Jordan Wilkins - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jordan Wilkins led the Colts’ backfield last week with 11 carries for 47 yards, but he split time with Nyheim Hines and Jonathan Williams and looks to be in a full committee while Marlon Mack recovers from a hand injury. The Buccaneers have actually been solid against the run this year and with an inconsistent workload, Wilkins has very little value in most leagues. Sit him.

IND RB Jordan Wilkins - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Tennessee Titans

Jordan Wilkins was held without a touch last week against the Texans, despite Marlon Mack being sidelined with a hand injury. Meanwhile, Jonathan Williams got a full workload. While it’s possible the Colts were just being careful with Wilkins coming off an ankle injury, the effectiveness of Williams is concerning enough to make using Wilkins way too risky. He should probably stay on waivers until further notice.

IND RB Jordan Wilkins - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Houston Texans

Jordan Wilkins has averaged 6.1 yards per carry in limited touches this year behind Marlon Mack, but he’s dealing with an ankle injury right now that kept him out of last week’s contest when Mack when down with a hand injury. His status for Thursday night is up in the air, but even if he’s active, he’s more likely to hurt the value of Jonathan Williams than he is to thrive himself. He should be left on waivers in all fantasy leagues or perhaps added to the back of a bench in case he takes the job. For now though, he’s too risky to count on after Williams looked like a quality back in relief of Mack on Sunday.

IND RB Jordan Wilkins - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jordan Wilkins is little more than a handcuff to Marlon Mack, as he had only three carries for 20 yards against the Dolphins last week and is averaging a mere 3.9 touches per game this year. Now he’s nicked up with an ankle injury. Unless he’s strictly a handcuff, he should remain on waivers in all league formats.
