Week 17 at Buffalo Bills
Miami goes to cold Buffalo with nothing to play for in Week 17 (except maybe its head coach). The Dolphins have a miserable implied team total of just 17.5 points as 4.5-point underdogs. With Ryan Tannehill posting fewer than 15 combined fantasy points over the past two weeks, none of these factors lead us to want to start Jason Sanders at kicker.
Week 16 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Dolphins host the Jaguars in a game with a brutally low over/under of just 38 points, second-lowest on the Week 16 slate. Despite being 3.5-point favorites, Miami still only has an implied team total of 20.75 points. That doesn't make Sanders a fantasy starter in Week 16.
Week 15 at Minnesota Vikings
Miami may have pulled off a miracle last week, but heading on the road to Minnesota this week may require the second coming. The Dolphins have an implied team total of just 18.5 points and are touchdown underdogs. That's a terrible combination when trying to pick a fantasy kicker. Don't start Sanders.
Week 14 vs. New England Patriots
The Dolphins host the Patriots, a situation Miami has surprised in the past, but not worth banking on in the fantasy playoffs. The Dolphins have a bottom six implied team total this week of fewer than 20 points. Combine all of this with an offense ranked near the bottom in total offense, and Jason Sanders is not a good streaming option.
Week 13 vs. Buffalo Bills
Miami has a below average implied team total of fewer than 22 points this week against a tough Buffalo defense. Sanders would not be a wise starting option among fantasy kickers.
Week 12 at Indianapolis Colts
The Dolphins went from 10-point underdogs to 7.5-point underdogs with the news that Ryan Tannehill would make his return, but Miami's implied team total of 21.75 points is still less than ideal. For these reasons, find a better fantasy kicker option than Jason Sanders.
Week 10 at Green Bay Packers
The Brock Osweiler experience continues at Lambeau Field, with the Dolphins having an extremely low implied team total of less than 20 points in Week 10. Jason Sanders should not be started in Week 10.
Week 8 vs. New York Jets
Miami has an average implied team total of 24 points this week. The Jets are also just 23rd in aFPA to kickers this season, putting Sanders on the borderline of starting consideration for Week 9.
Week 8 at Houston Texans (Thursday)
The Dolphins have the second lowest implied team total on the Week 8 slate. Never start a fantasy kicker with that low of an offensive outlook for his offense.
Week 7 vs. Detroit Lions
Sanders was the hero last week, but with it being just his second game with more than five fantasy points, you would be wise to find a more reliable kicker in Week 7.
