Week 13 vs. Cleveland Browns
Royce Freeman was relegated back to backup duties with Kyren Williams' return. He comes in as the RB50 this week. As they eased Williams back in, Freeman saw 13 attempts and found the end zone. He's only seen one target all season and given the tough matchup you surely have better options somewhere on your roster.
Week 11 vs. Seattle Seahawks
Royce Freeman heads into Week 11 as RB34 in our rankings. He's been inefficient on a pretty light workload so far this season. It took multiple injuries for him to see the field and he hasn't had more than 12 carries or one target in a game.
He's a desperation flex if you're affected by byes this week.
Week 9 at Green Bay Packers
Royce Freeman saw significant snaps last week against the Cowboys, but many were late in the game. He ended up with nine carries for 44 yards and a touchdown, but still looks to be behind Darrell Henderson, or at least 1B to him, on the depth chart. Even in a great matchup against the Packers, Freeman’s clogged depth chart status makes it difficult to trust him in fantasy lineups. We have him ranked outside starter territory this week and he should be considered a desperation RB3 option at best.
Week 8 at Dallas Cowboys
Royce Freeman steps into Week 8 as RB49 in our rankings. With a solid Dallas defense awaiting the Rams, Freeman's chances to shine might be slim. The Rams' backfield has been a revolving door of talent this season, and it's unclear where Freeman fits into the mix as the season progresses.
While he's a seasoned player with potential, the current circumstances place him in a precarious position for fantasy managers. He split carries with Darrell Henderson in Week 7 but all signs point to Freeman being the backup moving forward.

Week 17 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Royce Freeman saw 16 carries last week against the Titans but only took them for 32 yards. Houston also still deploys Rex Burkhead and Dare Ogunbowale and they're all facing a good run defense in Jacksonville. Neither Freeman nor the other two are likely to help you win a fantasy title this week,
Week 16 at Tennessee Titans
With Dameon Pierce out, the Texans have had to get creative in the backfield with what they have available, like putting a puzzle together. Last week, it was Royce Freeman who led the Texans in carries with 11. At this point, however, none of the Texans' running back inspire any confidence for fantasy purposes, especially going up against one of the better run defenses in Tennessee. You're better off staying away from all of the Texans running backs.
Week 15 vs Jaguars
Royce Freeman had himself a day in the passing game last week against the Seahawks, catching six passes for 51 yards on eight targets. It will be interesting to see if that trend continues. It's possible, as the backfield will basically be just Freeman and David Johnson with Rex Burkhead unavailable because of a hip injury. That said, it's a huge gamble as we reach the playoffs. Some of Freeman's work came in garbage time as Seattle pulled away in the fourth quarter.
Week 14 vs Seahawks
Royce Freeman saw his first action for the Texans last week against the Colts and had 21 yards on four carries. That was with David Johnson out of action. With Johnson possibly returning this week, will Freeman see much action? Too much of a gamble at this stage of the game, but at least he's back seeing work.
Week 9 vs. New England Patriots
Royce Freeman had six carries and a target last week against the Panthers, finishing with 25 yards. It was good to see him get six carries, but not really within the context of the game. Ameer Abdullah saw eight carries and Chuba Hubbard still led the way with 24. Freeman doesn’t appear to have a strong enough role in this offense to warrant fantasy consideration. Leave him on waivers.
