Week 14 at Buffalo Bills
In his second game back from injury, Corey Davis made a mark with 10 targets that produced five receptions for 85 yards. He is definitely getting back in the Jets game plan and is a solid second receiver for them.
Davis will face the Bills for the first time this season. Buffalo is ranked 29th in aFPA to wide receivers. With the favorable matchup, Davis is a fringe receiver for Week 14 if you need help because of the byes. We will see if QB Mike White continues to keep the Jets passing game positive.
Week 13 at Minnesota Vikings
Veteran Corey Davis returned to the lineup for the first time since Week 7 and his production was limited with only three targets for one reception and 9 yards. He played 68% of the offensive snaps, but we expect that number to go up this week.
It's a great matchup for Davis against Minnesota who is ranked 32nd in aFPA to wide receivers. It might take some time for him to ramp up, but eventually he could have some fantasy value again this season. For Week 13, keep him on the bench.
Week 7 at Denver Broncos
Corey Davis had four targets and two receptions in each of the past two games which has produced a total of 90 yards combined. The Jets have been winning games but the wide receivers have been very quiet in recent weeks including Davis.
The Broncos are up this week and have the No. 1 ranked defense in aFPA to wide receivers. This matchup is not very good for Davis and the Jets passing attack. It all points to Davis being on the bench for Week 7 as we expect New York to struggle at Mile High.
Week 6 at Green Bay Packers
Corey Davis had two receptions last Sunday for 38 yards. The veteran started the season strong but has faded a bit as the Jets have spread the ball around more. He is playing around 75% of the snaps so he keeps some fantasy value.
The matchup against Green Bay this week is neutral so Davis will have to get more balls his way to be fantasy relevant for Week 6. Keep him on the bench, especially in PPR leagues for this tough road game.
Week 5 vs. Miami Dolphins
The veteran Corey Davis has kind of been lost in the shuffle in the Jets receiving corp. He ended up leading the Jets in targets last week with seven and has had two respectable games so far this season.
Davis faces an average Dolphins pass defense, and should start getting some fantasy consideration. At one time, he was a viable option but was never mentioned much coming into the season. He should not be in your starting lineup but keep watching his role in the Jets pass offense.
Week 12 at Houston
Corey Davis is questionable to play on Sunday and even if he does, he should remain on the bench for Week 12. The targets have been consistent and the receiving stats can help at times, but with the emergence of rookie Elijah Moore, Davis slides into the second-best receiving options for the Jets.
The matchup against Houston is neutral this week, but we are more worried about Davis' health. So, not start this Sunday for Davis.
Week 11 vs. Miami
Corey Davis was back on the field after missing a couple of games and picked up right where he left off - as the Jets No. 1 option in the passing game. Davis was targeted seven times which produced five receptions for 93 yards. This production has been the norm for him and he has become a pretty reliable fantasy asset on a bad football team.
Davis will face the Dolphins who are ranked 25th in aFPA to wide receivers. Veteran QB Joe Flacco will get the start for New York which could help Davis.
Start Davis as a high-end WR3 or flex for Week 11. Even with Davis being fairly stable and a good matchup, a rusty Flacco concerns us and the Jets always concern us.
Week 10 vs. Buffalo
Corey Davis has missed two straight games and even if he comes back this week, Buffalo is ranked No. 1 in the NFL in aFPA to wide receivers. Keep him on the bench for Week 10.
Week 8 vs. Cincinnati
Corey Davis continues to be a veteran presence in the Jets lineup. The numbers aren't staggering but consistent every week. Against the Patriots, he had four receptions for 47 yards and his fourth touchdown of the season.
The problem for Davis this week is he will have Mike White at quarterback. Not that Zack Wilson was lighting it up, but it could be a struggle for the Jets' offense.
We recommend keeping Davis on the bench for Week 8. QB Joe Flacco was acquired and when he gets into the lineup, it might be safe to use Davis again.
Week 7 at New England
Corey Davis has a minimum of seven targets in each of the last three games and that produced 13 receptions for 197 yards and touchdown over that span. It is clear Davis is the No. 1 target in the Jets passing game and QB Zach Wilson leans heavily on the veteran.
Jets face the Patriots for the second time this season. New England is ranked 17th in aFPA to wide receivers. Davis had his worst game as a Jet with only two catches for eight yards in the last meeting.
It appeared the Pats tried to take away Davis last time they met and that scares us a little bit. But he has been getting enough targets to warrant a start in Week 7 as a high-end WR3 or flex.
