Week 17 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Jordan Akins saw just three targets last week against the Titans but did catch all three of them for 39 yards. Still, he has less than 40 yards in four straight games. He at least has broken from the tight end pack in Houston, making him a low-end TE2 for Week 17 against the Jaguars.
Week 16 at Tennessee Titans
Jordan Akins has quietly become more involved in Houston's offense and now has touchdowns in two of his last four games. But his fantasy day more or less depends on those touchdowns, as he has just 48 yards receiving in the last three weeks. It is a good matchup this week, as the Titans have been pretty giving to opposing tight ends -- fifth-most receiving yards allowed to the position. Akins is a mid-TE2 this week.
Week 15 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Jordan Akins saw just two targets and ended up with just five yards last week against the Cowboys. The tight end room is too crowded from a fantasy perspective in Houston, as Brevin Jordan and Teagan Quitoriano also see action. Akins isn't a recommended play, especially in a tough matchup against the Chiefs.
Week 14 at Dallas Cowboys
Jordan Akins has seen 11 targets over the last two weeks, and that has been between both Davis Mills and Kyle Allen at quarterback. It's back to Mills this week. If you're desperate for a tight end this week, you could do worse than Akins. You're just banking on him scoring, most likely.
Week 13 vs. Cleveland Browns
Jordan Akins was a beneficiary of the Texans having to play plenty of catch-up against the Dolphins. His five catches were a season-high, his 61 yards were just the third time cracking 50 yards this season and he scored just his second touchdown of the season. That said, Cleveland has been very solid against tight ends this season. Akins should remain on the bench this week.
Week 9 vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Two targets, one catch. Too much of a crowd, not a very good quarterback and a short week to prepare for one of the best defenses in the NFL. Jordan Akins isn't startable in fantasy.
Week 8 vs. Tennessee Titans
Jordan Akins has been the top receiving option among the tight ends for the Texans and had a season-high 68 yards last week against the Raiders. But the tight end room is still very crowded as he shares with O.J. Howard and Brevin Jordan. Akins barely cracks the TE2 territory. Maybe in a very deep league you can start him.
Week 7 at Las Vegas Raiders
Thanks to the byes, Jordan Akins cracks our top 25 tight ends this week. But two things work against him. He shares the field with O.J. Howard and the Texans don't throw much to the tight end. Akins only has eight targets in three games, so you're putting a lot of trust into the Texans or you're severely hurting at the position if you have to roll with Akins.
Week 17 vs. Tennessee Titans
In the loss to Cincinnati last week, Jordan Akins finished with four receptions for 39 yards. He has posted more than 50 yards just twice this season and hasn’t scored since the opener. Akins missed the October battle against Tennessee in October and doesn’t make for a good fantasy start in the rematch.
Week 16 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
With Deshaun Watson throwing for a season-most 373 yards against the Colts last week, Jordan Akins caught five balls for 50 yards – his best game in a month. He still has just the one score back in the opener, so even though the Bengals have struggled against the pass Akins is a risky fantasy start.
