Turner to return to coach Chargers

What Dean Spanos can do that many of his football team’s fans can’t do, is remember. It doesn’t take much for the Chargers president to recall the not-so-long-ago, when he was boss of the worst team in the NFL, when even he admits his organization lacked organization.

It was a loser.

So, when Spanos, who has been in charge of the franchise since father Alex handed him the wheel in 1994, says head coach Norv Turner and General Manager A.J. Smith will return in 2011, he almost seems incredulous, amazed that he has to be asked.

Public opinion aside, it’s his team to run. Turner and Smith will return. This is not an election ticket. One vote matters.

Fantasy Impact:

The Chargers will see some changes in the offseason but we know Phillip Rivers is a stud at QB and will be at least a top-5 player at the position next year in fantasy. Antonio Gates, when healthy, is the top TE and RB Ryan Mathews has looked great, when he's healthy, while Mike Tolbert is a nice compliment. With guys Floyd, Clatyton, Naanee, VJax and 'Tutu' among others catching passes this year it goes to show they won't need a lot of big names at the position. But, if there is any way management can make up with Vincent Jackson and resign him it can only make them better.
