X-rays on the hand of Bears QB Justin Fields were negative, per head coach Matt Eberflus. He will have an MRI on Monday.

Fields took a sack from Minnesota's Danielle Hunter in the third quarter, left the game and did not return. Fields went 6/10 for 58 yards. Undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent took over for Fields and went 10/14 for 58 yards and had a rushing touchdown but the Bears fell to 1-5 with a 19-13 loss. The Bears are home against the Raiders next week as their road to two of the top picks in the 2024 draft, if not the first two picks, rolls on now that the Panthers are 0-6.

Bears QB Justin Fields has been ruled out with a hand injury.

Fields suffered the injury to his right hand on a sack from Vikings DE Danielle Hunter. Undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent, the Division II star, is now in at quarterback for Chicago. Fields finished 6 of 10 for 58 yards with an interception and was sacked four times.

The Falcons have agreed to trade for Rams WR Van Jefferson.

It’s a 2025 pick swap — 6th and 7th rounders. They hope to recapture his play from 2021. A low-risk, high-reward deal, Rapoport went on to say. While Jefferson should slide in a top option right behind Drake London, the Falcons will likely remain a run-first team. He could be worth a look, at least in deeper leagues.

Steelers’ QB Kenny Pickett is off the injury report and expected to start Sunday vs. the Ravens while Pittsburgh TE Pat Freiermuth is listed out for that game.

Rookie TE Darnelll Washington is a gigantic red zone option and could see some extra run while Freiermuth is out but it's not recommended to start him in anything but the deepest of leagues this week.

With starting TE Pat Freiermuth week-to-week with a hamstring injury, the team has promoted Rodney Williams to the active roster from the practice squad.

Freiermuth is probably cuttable in most typical leagues, as he was operating as a fringe TE1 in the first place. In leagues with IR designations, he is a great candidate as he works his way back to the field.

A game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday is the last one that Rams star receiver Cooper Kupp is mandated to sit out because he is on injured reserve. But there is no guarantee that Kupp will return from his hamstring injury for the Oct. 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Coach Sean McVay said Wednesday it is “the hope” that Kupp will play against the Eagles but stopped short of proclaiming it a done deal.

The 2021 NFL offensive player of the year suffered a season-ending ankle injury last year. Early in training camp, he suffered the hamstring injury that caused him to be placed on injured reserve.

It sounds as if the team will shoot for next week, but there is no guarantee on when he could return. Week 6 vs. the Arizona Cardinals feels the most likely.

The #Steelers placed WR Diontae Johnson on IR.

A prime example of why we can't always trust players when it comes to their own injuries: Johnson claimed to be day-to-day after the Week 1 injury, but now finds himself missing the next four games. The earliest he can come back is Week 7. Pickens, Robinson and Austin will be the team's top-three WRs. Austin, at least, is likely still on your waiver wire and could be worth a look in deeper leagues.

Rookie WR Puka Nacua (oblique) will be listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the 49ers, but Sean McVay said the Rams are expecting him to be ready to go.

Nacua was a DNP for the last two days, so this is fantastic news. His Week 1 performance was surprising and maybe not sustainable (40.5% target share), but he should absolutely be in fantasy consideration if he's ready by Sunday.

Rams’ WR Puka Nacua did not practice today due to an oblique injury.

It is clear the Rams are not allowed to have nice things in the Year 2023. Nacua had an incredible debut, accounting for 40.5% of the team's targets in Week 1. Atwell notched 8 targets for 119 yards and would presumably get similar usage if Nacua were to miss this game. It's a shot in the dark, but Demarcus Robinson could get some extra run along the perimeter like he had with the Ravens in '22, as well.
