The Giants placed quarterback Tyrod Taylor and tight end Darren Waller on injured reserve.

Taylor has the rib injury while Walker has the hamstring injury. Tommy DeVito will now be the backup in New York with Daniel Jones making his return from a neck injury this week against the Raiders. For Waller, it’s a tough break with another hamstring injury. Both will now be out at least four weeks. The Giants have their bye in Week 13, so his next game will be, at the earliest, December 11 against the Packers.

Texans running back Dameon Pierce not practicing for third day in a row due to ankle injury suffered in fourth quarter against Panthers and he's not expected to play Sunday against Buccaneers Devin Singletary has run with first offense all week and is prepping to start.

Singletary has actually outperformed Pierce on a per-carry basis 3.0-to-3.7 but the running game has been less than inspiring to this point in the season. Pierce should take the majority of the touches in Week 9, which makes him an RB2 option.

Jones said today on Up & Adams that he’s good to go for this week’s game against the Raiders.

“I’m cleared, I’m ready to go,” Jones said, “ready to play on Sunday.”

DeVito came in after Taylor went down and would likely get the call if neither Taylor nor Jones can play in Week 9. It's a situation worth monitoring but DeVito wouldn't seem to be an enticing fantasy option, even in the deepest of leagues.

Jones was examined before yesterday’s game the post went on to say. It's good timing for the Giants who lost a late lead against the Jets this past week. Taylor was taken to the hospital for a rib injury and DeVito didn't look great at times.

Taylor has a top-ten and QB19 finish over the last weeks, but the latter is more to be expected in Week 8. Jones had a great projection heading into the year but fantasy managers shouldn't be afraid to drop him at this point.
