Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee) takes first team reps

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger took some first-team reps during Monday's practice, a positive sign as the team prepares for the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Roethlisberger, who underwent surgery to repair a torn left meniscus on Oct. 17, moved well in the pocket and threw with authority while running the no-huddle offense, right tackle Marcus Gilbert said.

"Ben looked really good," Gilbert said. "Ben is a competitor. Never count him out. We're optimistic where he stands right now. As far as him being healthy, 100 percent, that's where I want him to be. Seeing that is very encouraging."

Fantasy Impact:

The Steelers (4-3) will prepare Landry Jones for his second consecutive start in case Roethlisberger can't play, but we've reported for a couple of weeks now that Big Ben may have played up the timetable so he can make an early return. There are reports the team expected him back for Week 9 and based on this article, that's still certainly a possibility.

Former Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins is planning to sign with the #Chargers on a one-year deal. Electric when healthy, Dobbins — who averages 5.8 yards per carry in his career — reunites with OC Greg Roman and can hit the market again in March.

Fantasy Impact:

Dobbins has had poor injury luck in his career, but has only managed 234 total rushes since being drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. This is a low-risk, high-reward move by the Chargers and might give them a runway to wait a little longer in the '24 Draft before they address the position.

Cowboys sign RB Royce Freeman

The Cowboys have signed running back Royce Freeman to a one-year deal. Freeman had 319 yards on 77 carries with 2 touchdowns last year for the Los Angeles Rams. He was 3rd round pick of Denver in '18.

Fantasy Impact:

Freeman hasn't rushed for 500 yards since 2018, his rookie season. This shouldn't have any impact on the team drafting at the position and/or bringing back Ezekiel Elliott.
