Seattle Seahawks tight end Zach Miller is going on Injured Reserve and will be done for the season, coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday.
Miller had ankle surgery following a week three win over Denver with the thought he would be back in four-to-six weeks or so.
But Carroll said the ankle never responded and Miller will not be able to play this season.
Carroll says backup tight ends Luke Willson and Cooper Helfet have a chance to play this Sunday at Kansas City despite each battling minor injuries — Willson a sprained ankle and Helfet a banged knee.
The Seahawks signed Tony Moeaki, so this is a situation to monitor as the we head down the stretch.
