Ryan Mathews breaks clavicle, out for season

San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews broke his left clavicle Sunday and will miss the rest of the season, The San Diego Union-Tribune’s Michael Gehlken reported.

Mathews had already broken his right clavicle during the preseason. He broke his left clavicle during the second quarter of the Chargers’ 31-7 loss Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Impact:

Curtis Brinkley carried the ball six times for 42 yards, while Jackie Battle had three carries for two yards. Brinkley seems to be the favorite for touches next week against the Jets, but Battle and Ronnie Brown (if healthy) would also be in the mix.
