Rookie cornerback Jerraud Powers had surgery on his left foot after getting injured in the Colts' Jan. 16 playoff win over Baltimore, coach Jim Caldwell said Friday morning at his final news conference before the Super Bowl.
Powers, a rookie fourth-round draft pick, has not practiced since injuring the foot in the 20-3 win over the Ravens.
"He had, what the doctors refer to as, and I 'm going to use their medical description, an internal fixation of a fractured foot," Caldwell said. "I couldn't give you all the details. But it's something obviously he's been able to get himself pretty close to being able to play. So he's working himself through it."
