The results suggest Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas and quarterback Blake Bortles have figured each other out.
After all, Thomas enters Sunday’s game against Atlanta at EverBank Field with a four-game touchdown streak.
The reality is different.
Thomas and Bortles are still playing catch-up. Thomas’ first season with the Jaguars hit a massive snag when he missed most of the preseason and the first four games of the regular season with a broken hand.
There’s still a long way to go, but that’s a good thing for the Jaguars.
If Thomas is already regularly catching touchdowns, imagine the production once he and Bortles have more experience playing with each other, the story pointed out. Thomas proved to be a pretty nice value draft pick or free agent pickup for owners who were able to stick with him all season until this point.
