Report: Seattle Not Interested In Matt Leinart

Don't look for Matt Leinart in Seattle. Persons close to the team indicate it's not going to happen.

Apparently, Seattle is satisfied with its two quarterbacks, Matt Hasselbeck and Charlie Whitehurst, despite Whitehurst's inconsistent play this summer. But the club paid a steep price to acquire Whitehurst from San Diego and envisions him as Hasselbeck's successor, and the Seahawks didn't want to complicate the situation by introducing another young quarterback.

Plus, the Seahawks have plenty of money invested in the position.

So while Leinart going to Seattle would seem to make sense from a lot of perspectives - with his former coach at USC, Pete Carroll, the most compelling reason - it almost surely isn't going to happen. Seattle is happy with two quarterbacks and will wait on Whitehurst. It will not jump for Leinart.
