Redskins QB Colt McCoy still having issues with leg

The right leg that was supposed to have healed after three offseason injuries is hurting again, forcing Colt McCoy to miss the team’s first two preseason games. After Thursday’s second preseason game, HC Jay Gruden said “starting isn’t even in the equation now” when asked about McCoy, adding that the quarterback has to get healthy. After McCoy didn’t practice on Sunday, Gruden sounded even more dire, saying McCoy might miss the last two preseason games and possibly more.

McCoy was supposed to be in a three way battle for the starting job with Haskins and Keenum. According to the story, McCoy looked good early on in camp and had an edge because he knows the offense better. Most reports say Keenum is favored to win the job at this point.
