Bucs QB Jameis Winston yesterday on RB Ronald Jones: "I would say RoJo has been showing out. His confidence, his comfort, RoJo's a smart guy. He's getting comfortable in this offense. No one is breathing down his neck. He's more relaxed and executing at a high level."
More Winston on Ronald Jones: "I know how talented he is. That's why he was a second-round pick. My first year, my first game wasn't like I would have wanted it. You have to continue to move forward, to grow and get better. I see drastic improvements coming in this season."
Tampa Bay showed their confidence in the sophomore back by not drafting another RB this offseason and only adding Andre Ellington in free agency, who was out of the NFL last year. Jones and Peyton Barber should share the workload, and hopefully, this early boost will propel last season's second-round pick to the next level. Jones is currently being drafted as RB40 in the late-eighth round.
