Ravens WR Breshad Perriman expected to play final preseason game

Wide receiver Breshad Perriman has a chance of playing in his first game for the Baltimore Ravens.

Perriman, a 2015 first-round draft pick, will make his Ravens debut in Thursday's preseason finale in New Orleans if he is cleared by doctors. He has missed every preseason and regular-season game since being the No. 26 overall pick 16 months ago because of two knee injuries.

"If he can play, he will play," coach John Harbaugh said after Monday's practice. "I do want to see him playing before he gets in a regular-season game. That's something we would want to see him do if he can. But that will be up to the docs."

Fantasy Impact:

Perriman has not missed a day of practice since being activated off the physically-unable-to-perform list on Aug. 23. He warmed up before Saturday's preseason game before not suiting up. The Ravens are expected to start Steve Smith Sr. and Mike Wallace in the Sept. 11 opener against the Buffalo Bills, but Perriman should be either the team's No. 3 or No. 4 receiver. Kamar Aiken will also be in the mix.

Former Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins is planning to sign with the #Chargers on a one-year deal. Electric when healthy, Dobbins — who averages 5.8 yards per carry in his career — reunites with OC Greg Roman and can hit the market again in March.

Fantasy Impact:

Dobbins has had poor injury luck in his career, but has only managed 234 total rushes since being drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. This is a low-risk, high-reward move by the Chargers and might give them a runway to wait a little longer in the '24 Draft before they address the position.

Cowboys sign RB Royce Freeman

The Cowboys have signed running back Royce Freeman to a one-year deal. Freeman had 319 yards on 77 carries with 2 touchdowns last year for the Los Angeles Rams. He was 3rd round pick of Denver in '18.

Fantasy Impact:

Freeman hasn't rushed for 500 yards since 2018, his rookie season. This shouldn't have any impact on the team drafting at the position and/or bringing back Ezekiel Elliott.

The Eagles have paid another big-time, rising player. This time, WR DeVonta Smith gets a 3-year, $75M contract extension that includes $51M guaranteed.
