The Rams are waiving kicker Sam Ficken and signing Cairo Santos, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The job is temporary until Greg Zuerlein is ready to return, and the veteran kicker appears close to returning.
Texans RB Lamar Miller was carted off the field during Saturday’s preseason game against the Cowboys with a left knee injury, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Miller’s knee was hit by the helmet of Maliek Collins on a stretch play and Miller went down immediately. No word yet on the severity of the injury but things do not look good for Miller. This now creates a major opportunity for Duke Johnson, whom the Texans just acquired from the Browns earlier this month. Here’s to a quick recovery for Miller.
The Colts waived RB Donta Foreman from injured reserve with an injury settlement, per Joel Erickson of the Indianapolis Star.
After being acquired off waivers from the Texans just three weeks ago, Foreman’s 2019 season was thought to be down the drain after being placed on injured reserve. However, he will possibly get an opportunity with a team late in the season, as he will now be free to sign elsewhere. The expected timetable from his biceps injury is about four months, so a team may take a chance on him for a stretch run or as depth in the playoffs. In any event, Foreman at least now has some chance of playing in 2019.
Packers WR Equanimeous St. Brown suffered a high-ankle sprain in last night’s preseason game in Canada, source said. X-Rays were negative and the MRI indicated a high-ankle sprain that’ll likely knock him out 4-6 weeks.
Equanimeous St. Brown's absence should help boost Jake Kumerow's playing time up as the likely No. 4 receiver in Green Bay to start the season. Kumerow has looked good in camp and in preseason games and will be right on the edge of seeing useful fantasy volume if any receiver ahead of him misses playing time or if he can beat out Geronimo Allison for slot work.
