Saints Inactives
Isa Abdul-Quddus FS
CharLes Brown T
Junior Galette DT
Tom Johnson DT
Courtney Roby WR
Scott Shanle OLB
Dave Thomas TE

Fantasy Impact:

Last week Thomas stole a touchdown look from Jimmy Graham, putting up a 4-24-1 stat line. Graham may get a few more looks with Thomas out, but he is the #1 TE option this week regardless.

Saints 'feel good' about Jimmy Graham in Week 8
Monday, October 22, 2012, 1:41pm

Mike Triplett on Twitter - [Full Article]

Saints coach Joe Vitt: "We're gonna test TE Jimmy Graham out Wednesday. Right now we feel good about it."

Fantasy Impact:

Graham and the Saints play the Broncos on Monday night next week, so you will have to monitor his progress this week. We could know more after Wednesday's practice. Although, backup TE Dave Thomas is a risky play, he did catch a TD last week, despite only two catches for 27 yards. He could be a usable substitute if you had to go that direction.

Saints Jimmy Graham to get MRI on back
Monday, December 12, 2011, 8:55am

New Orleans Times-Picayune - [Full Article]

An intense flare-up of back spasms during pregame warmups nearly kept Saints tight end Jimmy Graham out of the lineup Sunday -- sending Saints fans and fantasy football players alike into a frenzy before kickoff. Ultimately, though, Graham fought through the pain and caught five passes for 55 yards. He almost added a 4-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, but officials ruled that his toe tickled the out-of-bounds grass.

Fantasy Impact:

Graham says he expects to be fine and play through the pain, and considering his numbers were better than a lot of other TE options this week, he's worth keeping in your lineup if he in fact does play. However, realize the risks that he could be injured at any point. John Gilmore and rookie Michael Higgins are behind Graham on the depth chart with Dave Thomas on IR.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham is clearly a budding star at the position. With a full offseason of development, he should win the starting job next season. If Dave Thomas is re-signed -- and I think he will be - then Jeremy Shockey is expendable although I do think he could be a candidate to return at a restructured deal.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham OUT for Wildcard Weekend
Friday, January 7, 2011, 5:08pm

New Orleans Times Picayune - [Full Article]

The New Orleans Saints issued their final injury report Friday afternoon and ruled out safety Malcolm Jenkins, tight end Jimmy Graham, defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove and linebacker Danny Clark.

Fantasy Impact:

Jeremy Shockey and Dave Thomas will fill in, but neither presents the upside of Graham.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham likely game-time decision
Friday, January 7, 2011, 1:32pm

ESPN.com - [Full Article]

The New Orleans Saints likely will wait until pretty close to game time to decide if injured safety Malcolm Jenkins and tight end Jimmy Graham will play in Saturday’s playoff game with the Seahawks.

Graham has an ankle injury and Jenkins has a knee injury and neither has practiced this week. The Saints will hold a walk-though practice at Qwest Field in a couple of hours. I wouldn’t expect the Saints to let Jenkins or Graham do much in that practice and that’s largely due to the weather conditions.

As you might expect, today looks like the typical January day in Seattle. It’s raining, it’s cool and it’s foggy. My guess Jenkins and Graham will continue doing whatever rehab work they’ve been doing and the real test will come before the game tomorrow.

Fantasy Impact:

If Graham can't go, Jeremy Shockey and Dave Thomas will fill in. Neither has anywhere near the upside of Graham.
