Less optimism that Rob Gronkowski will play

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, recovering after a series of surgeries on his fractured forearm and ailing back, still has not been cleared to play by Dr. James Andrews, according to ESPN and media reports. Moreover, there was less optimism Friday that he will play Sunday against the New Orleans Saints than there was earlier in the week.
Andrews is serving as an independent physician charged by the team and player with determining whether Gronkowski is cleared to play. Andrews is considered the most accomplished orthopedic surgeon in the world, but he didn't operate on Gronkowski.
Gronkowski also still has not been cleared by Dr. Jesse Jupiter, who performed the latest forearm surgery on Gronkowski, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Unless there is significant movement by Saturday, owners should assume that Gronk won't play against the Saints on Sunday. The 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff complicates matters. Colts TE Coby Fleener and Redskins TE Jordan Reed would be a good Plan Bs for owners who want to wait to see if Gronk is inactive. Titans TE Delanie Walker and Seahawks TE Luke Wilson (if Zach Miller is out) also play late on Sunday.

Miller had three straight top 11 finishes while with the Raiders, but hasn't made much noise in Seattle other than the 12-190-1 he posted in two 2012 playoff games.

When discussing the tight end position for Tampa Bay, there’s a deeper conversation to be had. Luke Stocker might be the incumbent to the job and he’s the guy you’d most expect to become the so-called starter – he already knows the offense, he’s the highest draft pick in the group and he has ability – but Stocker has company.
Don’t be surprised when you start hearing more about guys like Nate Byham, Danny Noble and Zach Miller. None, including Stocker, is a very accomplished NFL player. But each has varying degrees of experience and intriguing skills.
The article mentioned that TE is not a position featured in OC Mike Sullivan’s scheme, but, Dallas Clark was targeted 76 times and caught 47 passes last season. Still, we predict Stocker to catch under 30 balls and he's ranked just 39th on our list.
