Marcel Reece will continue as lead RB
Thursday, November 15, 2012, 10:30am
Raiders HC Dennis Allen said that the rotations would be similar to what they were in Sunday's 55-20 loss to Baltimore. Marcel Reece would be the lead back, with Jeremy Stewart getting work and Taiwan Jones getting a shot if he continues to show progress in the areas of ball security, general health and ability to execute the playbook.
Taiwan Jones running with first team

"He’s been a little up and down," Raiders coach Dennis Allen said of Jones. "A little injury-prone, or injury-plagued, and so it’s been kind of tough to evaluate because he’s missed some time. But we've got confidence in Taiwan and if he’s called on to step in and play, then we fully anticipate him stepping in and perform and do his job."
Jones is a smaller speed back who has never carried the ball more than seven times in a regular-season NFL game. Last year, he carried the ball 16 times for 73 yards (4.7 YPC). He's likely to be the main ballcarrier with both McFadden and Goodson out, but Marcel Reece will be heavily involved, even if it's just in the passing game.
Darren McFadden, Mike Goodson both have high ankle sprains
Monday, November 5, 2012, 4:44pm
Oakland will turn to some combination of Marcel Reece and Taiwan Jones as the dreaded high ankle sprain means McFadden and Goodson could miss significant time. However, McFadden hasn't officially been ruled out, according to the team.
Reece is a fullback and Jones a speed guy, so the two are likely to both see carries - depending on situation - if McFadden is out. Reese seems like the more usable pickup and was the Raiders leading receiver with 8 catches this week. The team has also said they don't trust Jones because of ball security issues. The Raiders will likely move to a more pass-heavy attack and split RB touches.
Darren McFadden suffers ankle injury
Sunday, November 4, 2012, 10:48pm
Raiders coach Dennis Allen said X-rays on McFadden's ankle were negative.
"I'm not sure the extent of (the injury)," Allen said. "We'll have to obviously take a look at it and see where it's at."
Adam Schefter had this to say about the injury: "Raiders RB Darren McFadden suffered a high ankle sprain on his first carry of the game, played through it before aggravating injury later. McFadden is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Mondy and is considered week to week for now."
Depending on the severity of the injuries to both McFadden and Goodson, the latter could be a hot pickup this week. The Raiders only ran the ball 11 times on Sunday, but Marcel Reece caught eight passes and scored a TD, so if both DMC and Goodson are out, he might be the best play in the Raider backfield. High ankle sprains are typically multi-week injuries.

Raiders backup running back Mike Goodson suffered a turf-toe injury Sunday and center Stefen Wisniewski hurt an ankle. The Raiders are hopeful that Goodson and Wisniewski will recover well enough to play against the Buccaneers on Sunday. Goodson’s injury is the one of most concern, Allen said. If Goodson can’t play Sunday, second-year back Taiwan Jones and fullback Marcel Reece would pick up the slack behind lead back Darren McFadden.
