Fullback Ahmard Hall returned to the Titans on Monday after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substances policy. Coach Mike Munchak said Hall is in great shape, and should help a running game that finally had some success against the Browns.

“We are happy Ahmard is back and hopefully that will help us,” Munchak said. “I would imagine we’ll see how he feels the next few days of practice. But he is willing and anxious to be here and has been a big part of our success in the run game. It’s just a matter of getting him in meetings and on the practice field and make sure everything is OK.”

The Titans have a one-week exemption, so they didn’t immediately have to make a roster move. They are expected to release fullback Quinn Johnson.

RB Chris Johnson and FB Quinn Johnson practiced together for the first time on Monday, two days after the Titans traded an undisclosed draft pick for the former Packers fullback.

The Titans were forced to make the deal after Hall, their fullback for the past five seasons, was suspended for the first four games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.

What it means for Chris Johnson is he's running behind a different fullback for the first time in his NFL career.

Hall had played in all 48 games since Johnson was drafted in 2008 — Johnson played in 47 of those — and helped lead the way for his NFL-best 4,598 rushing yards over that time.

Getting up to speed with his namesake — at a time when he's trying to get back in the swing of things himself after a 35-day contract holdout — could be a challenge for Chris Johnson.

"I don't know anything about his style to be honest,'' Chris Johnson said. "But as long as he knows his job and what he has to do, it should be all right."

Green Bay Press Gazette - [Full Article]

Packers NT B.J. Raji’s one play as a goal-line fullback last week at Atlanta worked well enough to think the Packers will consider using it again.

Coach Mike McCarthy lined up the 337-lb. nose tackle as one of three backs when the Packers faced a second-and-goal from the Falcons’ 1 in the second quarter. Raji and Quinn Johnson lined up as fullbacks, and John Kuhn as halfback. Offensive lineman T.J. Lang also was in the game as a tight end.

Raji was the lead blocker for Kuhn, who took the hand-off up the middle and scored easily behind him.

“That just came up last week,” McCarthy said. “Some of the things that we were doing with our inside run game, and our goal-line package, we wanted to improve it, wanted to add a wrinkle to it and just going off of game planning.
