Jaguars want Justin Blackmon back
Friday, January 31, 2014, 7:20pm

Jacksonville.com - [Full Article]

Receiver Justin Blackmon missed 12 of the Jaguars’ 16 games because of two suspensions for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. When Blackmon is reinstated, owner Shad Khan “absolutely” wants him to remain with the team.

Fantasy Impact:

There's no doubt that Blackmon has talent. In his last 17 games (which don't include his slow start in his rookie season), he has averaged 5.2 catches for 74 yards and 0.35 TD, which are low-end fantasy WR2 numbers In four games last season, he averaged 7.3-104-.25, which are low-end WR1 numbers -- and that's with Chad Henne/Blaine Gabbert throwing the ball. If he can get his head on straight and the Jaguars can upgrade their QB, Blackmon will be a star. He'd be a high risk pick if he's reinstated in time to play in 2014.

There is a chance QB Chad Henne resigns with the Jags before free agency.

Fantasy Impact:

The Jags need a QB and will likely address that in the draft. It looks like they have moved on from Blaine Gabbert, making Henne a possible starter at least to start next year, or a decent backup option to the new starter. Gabbert could be traded or released according to reports.

Chad Henne remains the starting quarterback, Jaguars HC Gus Bradley says.

Fantasy Impact:

Blaine Gabbert is healthy but the team is sticking with Henne. It doesn't bode well for Gabbert as the winless Jags seem to have seen enough of him and will likely go another direction next season with a high pick in a deep QB draft in 2014.

Chad Henne to remain starter in Week 8
Wednesday, October 23, 2013, 11:21am

Hays Carlyon, Twitter - [Full Article]

Jagaurs QB Blaine Gabbert has returned to practice, but HC Gus Bradley said that Chad Henne will remain the starter in Week 8.

Fantasy Impact:

Henne has thrown for over 300 yards in each of the last two weeks, but hasn't found the endzone (thanks to a couple of drops by Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts).
