Garrett Graham re-signs with the Texans
Thursday, March 13, 2014, 12:31pm
Once the team parted ways with Owen Daniels, re-signing Graham became much more feasible. After Daniels went down, Graham was the #11 TE from Week 6 to Week 14 before getting injured himself. He could be a baseline fantasy option at TE, but Gary Kubiak's TE-friendly offense is gone and it's not clear how much new HC Bill O'Brien will feature the tight end. While at Penn State, TE Jesse James was second on the team in receiving yards (333) in 2013, while TE Kyle Carter was second in 2012 (453 yards), so Graham could have a sizable role in the offense. Time will tell.

Texans release TE Owen Daniels
Tuesday, March 11, 2014, 12:06pm
The 31 year-old Daniels was a cap casualty. With Garrett Graham also hitting free agency, the Texans are left with 6th-round pick Ryan Griffin atop the depth chart at tight end. He caught 19 passes for 244 yards and one TD in 2013, posting a solid but unspectacular 1.09 FP/target on 28 targets.

Daniels said last week it was unlikely he’d play against the Jaguars.
Kubiak hinted Monday that Daniels could continue to be unavailable.
“Owen is not yet on the field is the best way I can describe it to you,” Kubiak said at Reliant Stadium. “He’s doing good. He’s just not yet on the field. We probably have a decision to make. I know he’s worked pretty hard (Monday) with the trainers, so we’ll see.”
Daniels is still recovering from a leg injury and has yet to participate in team activities. He didn't practice Tuesday but is doing some on-field work. Garrett Graham will continue to get the work with Daniels out.
Owen Daniels targeting Week 14 return
Thursday, November 14, 2013, 10:11am
Tight end Owen Daniels said Wednesday he still hopes to return for a Dec. 5 game at Jacksonville.
Daniels last played Oct. 6 in a loss at San Francisco. After fracturing his right fibula, he was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return.
Through five weeks, Daniels was the #10 TE, so needy teams could find him useful if he can knock off the rust quickly in his return. Keep in mind that his QB has changed, so it may take some time to get on the same page. Case Keenum also likes to throw to his receivers more than did Matt Schaub. Garrett Graham's production has been a disappointment in Daniels's absence.
