Tony Gonzalez won't be talked out of retirement
Monday, January 27, 2014, 10:36am
Once again, Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez reiterates that he won't be talked out of retirement in pre-Pro Bowl interview with Doug Flutie. He's "at peace."
The loss of Gonzo will impact Matt Ryan's chances of a bounce back season. The Falcons will have to address the TE position this summer, though 6'8" Levine Toiolo has some potential.

Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff said the team is looking forward to signing Roddy White to a contract extension.
With an offseason to improve his ankle and the return of Julio Jones to the other side, the Falcons offense should be back in 2014. However, RB Steven Jackson will be another year older and we can only assume TE Tony Gonzalez does not return.

MNF Injury Report - Tony Gonzalez QUESTIONABLE
Saturday, December 21, 2013, 6:09pm
WR Darius Johnson (ankle), S Zeke Motta (hand, neck)
TE Tony Gonzalez (toe), RB Antone Smith (knee), LB Sean Weatherspoon (knee)
S Thomas DeCoud (concussion)
G Mike Iupati (knee), WR Mario Manningham (illness, knee), TE Vance McDonald (ankle), LB Dan Skuta (foot)
LB Navorro Bowman (wrist), CB Tarell Brown (ribs), WR Michael Crabtree (ankle, wrist), C Jonathan Goodwin (not injury related), RB Frank Gore (ankle, knee), DT Justin Smith (shoulder)
TE Tony Gonzalez is again listed as questionable with his toe injury. He was limited in practice this week but is expected to play in what isn't a great matchup. For the 49ers, WR Michael Crabtree and RB Frank Gore are listed as probable. Gore was limited in practice Thursday and Friday but was a full go Saturday. Crabtree practiced fully all week.

Falcons OC Dirk Koetter talked about getting rookie tight end Levine Toilolo more involved. Toilolo had a nice 12-yard catch against the Bills.
Koetter said he wants to get Toilolo more playing time to improve his blocking skills.
"At the end of the year here, we know Levine’s a player that we’re trying to … Tony [Gonzalez] is not going to be here next year. We know we’re going to try and get Levine some work. We know we’re going to try and get Schraeder some work. But, you’re also trying to win the games. Fine line there, but we need to get both those guys some work."
Tony Gonzalez owners should keep this in mind as the Falcons prepare for 2014 season. Gonzo shouldn't take too much of a hit here in terms of fantasy production.
