Jacoby Ford Fantasy News

USA Today - [Full Article]

The New York Jets have signed free agent receiver-kick returner Jacoby Ford.

Ford saw limited action last season for Oakland, catching only 13 passes. He was used more on punt and kickoff returns, and figures to handle those chores for the Jets.

Fantasy Impact:

Ford could be used more out of the slot with Eric Decker and Jeremy Kerley likely to start on the outside. Ford, of course, has had injury issues most of his career. He has just three TDs in four seasons and likely won't be targeted in a lot of fantasy drafts.

Rod Streater may be the Raiders' WR1

San Francisco Chronicle - [Full Article]

Terrelle Pryor, who The Chronicle reported is starting over Matt Flynn, has taken a lot more snaps with Denarius Moore, Rod Streater and Jacoby Ford the last couple of weeks. He already had a strong connection with Streater, a close friend who he worked out with all summer.

Fantasy Impact:

It's interesting to note that Pryor and Streater worked out all summer because that tends to have an impact in games. Passing yards will be hard to come by in this offense, but it sounds like Streater might be fantasy relevant in 2013.

ESPN - [Full Article]

Rod Streater opened eyes last season as an undrafted rookie from Temple. A raw player in college, Streater impressed Oakland from minicamps on. He finished his first NFL season with 39 catches.

With Darrius Heyward-Bey released because of salary-cap issues and Jacoby Ford coming off a foot injury, Streater has a chance to start alongside Denarius Moore. Oakland coach Dennis Allen said recently he hopes Streater continues to make strides.

“I want to see him start where he left off, but I want to see continued improvement,” Allen said. “I think the guy's got talent. I think he's a good route-runner. I think he's got good ball skills. I think he'll go up and attack the ball. I think he's a tough kid. I think he believes in a lot of the things I'm looking for in a football player.”

Fantasy Impact:

If he starts and the Raiders passing game is decent, Streater should be fantasy relevant in most formats.

WR Jacoby Ford is going to have surgery on his injured left foot, Raiders coach Dennis Allen said.

Fantasy Impact:

This should allow Rod Streater to establish himself as the team's WR3 at a minimum, even when Denarius Moore returns from his hamstring injury. Streater was targeted twice as much (10) as Darrius Heyward-Bey (5).

Oakland Tribune - [Full Article]

Just because Raider wide receiver Jacoby Ford hasn’t practiced or played in a game for three weeks, that doesn’t mean that he won’t play Monday night.

That’s the word from Allen, who apparently is hoping against hope that Ford’s sore left foot will recover within the next 72 hours or so.

“No, it’s not a done deal,” coach Dennis Allen said. “We’re going to hold out and wait until we get closer to game time to go ahead and make that decision. He’s continued to get better. We’ll see where we’re at come gametime.”

Denarius Moore misses practice on Tuesday

Raiders WRs Jacoby Ford and Denarius Moore not practicing on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact:

The Raiders have been encouraged by Moore's progress, but it's a bad sign that he wasn't able to practice fully today. Oakland doesn't play until Monday night so he has time to get back in the swing of things. He's out with the same hamstring injury that has plagued him all summer. Rod Streater will get a bump if Moore can't play.
