Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers continued to praise Randall Cobb as a football player and suggested that he will be staring in the slot.

Rodgers personally lobbied for Cobb, so he likely knew first hand that the former Packer still had gas left in the tank. Rodgers suggested that Cobb is ticketed for the slot role while noting that he is happy with the top four receivers in Davante Adams, Cobb, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Allen Lazard. With Adams locked into a near every snap role, the Packers could rotate Lazard and MVS on the outside, with MVS stepping into the slot when Cobb needs a breather. Rodgers also noted that while Amari Rodgers has had his moments, he has also had his rookie hiccups. This suggests that he may be brought along slowly and that the top four he mentioned should all play meaningful roles this season. 64th in our wide receiver rankings, Randall Cobb, could provide a strong return on his current ADP if he can carry this momentum into the season.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, wide receiver: Do with this observation what you wish, but Valdes-Scantling’s hands have been noticeably better so far in camp. If he keeps this up, he’s the clear-cut No. 2 wideout behind Davante Adams.

Texans veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks, dealing with a sore neck, is expected to return this week after being sidelined Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Randall Cobb is expected to remain on injured reserve and not play again this year. Cobb said in a telephone interview Friday he is contemplating whether to have surgery on his toe.

The Texans were running with Coutee and Hansen as the top-two WRs in Week 14, but both should move down a spot with the return of Cooks. Hansen ran out of the slot at times in Week 14, according to reports.

Romeo Crennel said there is “a good possibility” that WR Randall Cobb is done for the season.

Cobb could come off the IR for Week 15 but this tweet makes it seem like that isn't going to happen. With Cooks out last week, it left Coutee and Hansen as the team's top-two receivers for Watson.

Without Will Fuller, who had a career-high 58 catches for 879 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games this season, the only receivers on the active roster with receptions this season are Brandin Cooks (52) and Keke Coutee (6). Randall Cobb is on injured reserve and is out for at least two more games with a toe injury. The Texans released Kenny Stills on Friday, a day after Fuller had a career day with six catches for 171 yards and two touchdowns on Thanksgiving.

Some things to note is the potential rise of Coutee who now finds himself as a possible WR2. Also, it looks like Duke Johnson will have a role even when David Johnson returns.

Texans receiver Will Fuller announced via Instagram Monday that he's been suspended six games for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.

It's a huge blow to the Texan offense and a hit to QB Deshaun Waton's fantasy value. Fuller had 53 receptions for 879 yards for an average of 16.58 per catch. Fuller had eight touchdowns for the year. From Sept. 27 through Nov. 8, Fuller had a touchdown catch in each game, a streak of six. The story added Fuller, who's a pending free agent at the conclusion of this season, will miss Houston's five remaining games and the 2021 season opener, regardless of whether he stays put or signs with a different franchise. Cooks, Cobb, Stills and Coutee will move up a spot on the depth chart. Cobb is currently dealing with a toe injury.

Texans wide receivers Randall Cobb and Kenny Stills have both been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Lions.

Both receivers suffered injuries this past Sunday so the news is not surprising. The Texans' target distribution will lean heavily towards Will Fuller and Brandin Cooks on Thanksgiving against the porous Lions defense.
