Patriots wide receiver Brandon LaFell missed practice today due to a case of strep throat, according to a source.
LaFell, who has been on a tear of late, with 25 catches for 329 yards and four touchdowns in his last four games, was told to stay clear of the facility at Gillette Stadium. When a player has something that is deemed contagious, that is usually the message the Patriots send. His locker appeared untouched when the media was allowed into the locker room during player access.
With the Patriots' bye week coming last Sunday, it had been five days since the team had practiced prior to today.
The story added that it is difficult to say how the ailment will affect LaFell for the week of preparation or for Sunday night's game in Indianapolis. The Patriots are not required to release an injury report until after tomorrow's practice.
