Patriots RB Fred Taylor Officially Out for Monday

In an anticipated move, the Patriots downgraded veteran running back Fred Taylor to out for Monday's game against Miami. Taylor has missed the week of practice with a toe injury.

This thrusts third-year running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis into the top spot, and also is likely to mean Thomas Clayton - signed to a two-year contract Thursday - is active for the game.

The Patriots would have Green-Ellis as the lead back, followed by Sammy Morris, Clayton and Danny Woodhead.

In addition, offensive lineman Nick Kaczur (back) and cornerback Terrence Wheatley (foot) have been ruled out for Monday's game. Neither player has practiced during the regular season.

Fantasy Impact:

It's naturally scary to start a New England running back, but you could do a lot worse than Green-Ellis this week.
