Norv Turner expects Ryan Mathews to have a "breakout" year

Chargers HC Norv Turner is excited about the strides Ryan Mathews can continue to make in his third season, saying he expects Mathews to be a "guy who has that breakout, big-time year."

Fantasy Impact:

Mathews has a reputation for being injury-prone, but he only missed two games in 2011 after missing four games in 2010. He does have a tendency to get dinged up, but was able to play through it for the most part last season. He had at least 14 touches in all but one game and saw at least 19 touches in eight of his 14 games in 2011. He will be the workhorse back in San Diego as long as he can stay healthy, with Curtis Brinkley and Le'Ron McClain chipping in here and there.
