Lamar Miller not happy with role

After the Dolphins lost to the Giants in Week 14, running back Lamar Miller expressed his feeling that he should continue to get the ball if he’s doing well when asked about getting five second half carries despite running well in the first two quarters.

Miller was back on the bench in the second half of Sunday’s loss to the Chargers, carrying twice for one yard while the Dolphins opted to go with Jay Ajayi and Damien Williams instead of Miller. Miller wasn’t as effective in the first half as he’d been the previous week, but still felt frustrated that he wasn’t part of the offense after halftime.

“I mean, yeah, because I feel like I could help this team win,” Miller said, via the Palm Beach Post. “You know, I’m pretty sure everybody wanted to be on the field competing with their teammates and … I don’t know.”

Fantasy Impact:

The Dolphins were down big in San Diego, leading them to pass more in the second half but Miller’s been their most productive receiver out of the backfield in addition to leading the team in rushing.

Chargers to sign RB J.K. Dobbins on one-year deal

Former Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins is planning to sign with the #Chargers on a one-year deal. Electric when healthy, Dobbins — who averages 5.8 yards per carry in his career — reunites with OC Greg Roman and can hit the market again in March.

Fantasy Impact:

Dobbins has had poor injury luck in his career, but has only managed 234 total rushes since being drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. This is a low-risk, high-reward move by the Chargers and might give them a runway to wait a little longer in the '24 Draft before they address the position.

Cowboys sign RB Royce Freeman

The Cowboys have signed running back Royce Freeman to a one-year deal. Freeman had 319 yards on 77 carries with 2 touchdowns last year for the Los Angeles Rams. He was 3rd round pick of Denver in '18.

Fantasy Impact:

Freeman hasn't rushed for 500 yards since 2018, his rookie season. This shouldn't have any impact on the team drafting at the position and/or bringing back Ezekiel Elliott.

The Eagles have paid another big-time, rising player. This time, WR DeVonta Smith gets a 3-year, $75M contract extension that includes $51M guaranteed.
