Patriots WR Kenbrell Thompkins has continued to stand out as a solid possession receiver with vertical skills. It’s noticeable that he and Tom Brady are consistently on the same page, and they’ve hooked up on a variety of routes that change on the coverage. Thompkins and fellow rookie Josh Boyce have been pretty good at finding empty spots between the corners and safeties in zone coverage.
Thompkins and Boyce both caught four passes in the scrimmage, second only to Danny Amendola's five. (Aaron Dobson caught three.) Right now, Thompkins is a very interesting late-round flier. It appears that he has locked up a roster spot.
