Jets plan to stick with Michael Vick

Jets HC Rex Ryan said Michael Vick would be back at quarterback next weekend as they try to avoid making it nine in a row.

Vick started for the first time this season and made one big improvement over the previous week by not turning the ball over at all in the 24-10 loss. He completed 21-of-28 passes for 196 yards and a touchdown, which was enough to keep him in the job despite the fact that he couldn’t move the offense when the game was still in doubt in the second half.

“I thought he played well, so we’ll give him another shot against Pittsburgh,” Ryan said, via ESPNNewYork.com. “As long as he’s healthy.”

Fantasy Impact:

As the story also pointed out, the health proviso makes sense since Vick left the game for a short time in the fourth quarter after banging his head on the turf after taking a hit, but he returned to the game after passing through evaluation for a concussion and earned the chance to run the show again next week.
