Colts say Dwayne Allen is 'a beast'

“Dwayne Allen, the guy’s a beast,” said Colts GN Ryan Grigson at February’s combine. “Anyone who game plans against him or watches the tape, or Joe Fan that just sees him how he plays in the red zone, how he plays in traffic, how he blocks at the point of attack, the tempo he plays at and the ferocity he plays at, he’s a guy you want on your team."

“He’s doing very well and we look forward to him having a great year.”

Fantasy Impact:

Allen said that he feels like he's fully recovered from the hip injury that caused him to miss most of the 2013 season. He is an intriguing player, but his upside is somewhat capped by the presence of Coby Fleener. Allen played 78% of the snaps as a rookie in a full 16-game season, which is a good sign. But he was only 27th in targets among TEs that year, but that was in Bruce Arians' offense, and he's not known to feature the tight end position. Fleener was 11th in targets in 2013.
