HOU RB Steve Slaton back at OTAs

Last season RB Steve Slaton was slowed by a neck injury that forced him to sit out the final month of the season. He finished with 437 yards and three TDs rushing and 44 receptions for 417 yards with four scores.

Slaton participated in the Texans' first round of organized team activities this past week. He is awaiting clearance by doctors next month to participate in July's full-contact training camp.

"It's doing well,'' he said of his neck, which required surgery. "I participated in OTAs and I'm just waiting 'til June to get cleared. I think it's going to go well. Everything is right on track for me to be ready for camp.''

Fantasy Impact:

Last year considered one of the top backs to draft, Slaton will now be in a training camp battle with RBs Arian Foster and Ryan Moats to be the 2010 starter. Monitor how he progresses and hopefully this isn't another dreaded committee situation.
