Giants RB Brandon Jacobs feels his football clock ticking. It has been three years since he flattened Redskins safety LaRon Landry in the open field on a running play that he still considers one of the finest of his career. Next July, he will turn 30, the age when most top tailbacks are put out to pasture. And he has two years remaining on the four-year, $25 million extension he signed in 2009 and reworked this summer to help keep Ahmad Bradshaw a Giant.

If he doesn't post solid numbers, Jacobs knows he won't be able to cash in on the $2 million of incentives in his deal - or earn another big contract.

"The nature of the business kind of tells you what you have to do," said Jacobs, who rushed six times for 48 yards Monday night. "The way things go and it being a money-driven business . . . I want to give myself the best chance that I can possibly give myself, and my family, to have another solid three to four years left in this thing."
