Giants name Daniel Jones starting QB for Week 3

Daniel Jones has been named the New York Giants starting quarterback, the team announced Tuesday morning.

Jones, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, will replace Eli Manning as the starter following the Giants' 0-2 start.

Fantasy Impact:

We saw this coming Monday as the HC Pat Shurmur didn't commit to Manning starting in Week 3, after the Giants struggled over the first two weeks. Manning is 56-for-89 with two TDs and two INTs this season. As we also reported Monday, the Giants defense is probably the team's bigger problem, but Manning wasn't the team's long term solution at QB, so it was only a matter of time before their first round pick took over job. Jones looked good in the preseason and will get a full week of work before a winable game at Tampa Bay in Week 3, and then at home against Washington in Week 4. Jones certainly offers more upside than Manning in terms of fantasy, but potential Jones owners can also expect some growing pains along the way.
