Gates headed for game-time decision

Three days after playing through severe pain at Indianapolis, tight end Antonio Gates said the pain caused by his torn plantar fascia has “gotten better” but he is “undecided” whether he can do it again against Oakland. He hopes to run and cut later in the week, but it will once again come down to a Sunday decision.

“I don’t want it to be a lingering thing through the season,” Gates said. “I want to get it where I’m able to contribute (at a high level).”

Gates caught four passes for 46 yards while playing 35 snaps against the Colts, about half what he played against New England and Tennessee in his most recent two games.
