Delhomme ready to return?

There appears to at least be a chance that quarterback Jake Delhomme will return to practice this week for the Carolina Panthers after missiing two games with a broken finger.

Delhomme acknowledged after yesterday's 20-10 loss at New England that it was at least a possibility. In the locker room, his right hand wasn't wrapped and his index and middle fingers didn't appear to be taped together anymore.

Asked if he'd be ready for practice Wednesday, Delhomme said "We'll see."

Coach John Fox stayed with his usual "day to day" declaration for Delhomme's status.

The Panthers are 1-1 with Matt Moore subbing for Delhomme at quarterback, but the offense continues to struggle, scoring 26 points in the past two games and 49 points in the past four games.
