Darren Sproles out indefinitely with broken hand

Saints RB Darren Sproles will be sidelined with a broken hand that will require surgery. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune's Mike Triplett, interim coach Joe Vitt didn't offer particulars Friday about when Sproles might return.

With Sproles out against the Eagles on Monday night, Pierre Thomas and Mark Ingram will be getting the bulk of the work, and Chris Ivory should get some snaps for the first time all season. Triplett writes that WR/RB Travaris Cadet could possibly see time as Sproles' replacement, which was the case during preseason, but he's yet to register an offensive touch all season and has dressed for just four games.

Fantasy Impact:

Thomas is the big winner here. He will be used more in the passing game, but may yield some of his between-the-tackles work to Ingram, who should also see an increase in workload. Lance Moore may see a few extra targets in the passing game since he works the same area of the field as Sproles.
