Chris Thompson sprains back

Redskins running back Chris Thompson, who was slow to get up after taking a hard fall after leaping in vain for a ball thrown well over his head, was diagnosed with a back sprain. It was a frightening moment in the game, given that the 5-foot-8 Thompson had broken his back while at Florida State. Thompson also had a team-high six catches.

Fantasy Impact:

Reports before the game said Thompson could lead the way on the ground as Matt Jones was scratched. Thompson's value was trending up coming into this contest as he was by far the team's most productive back. Washington hosts Tampa Bay in Week 7 before a Week 8 bye.
