Chiefs not putting a timeline on QB Patrick Mahomes (knee)

‘‘It would be a stretch for Patrick Mahomes to get there,” HC Andy Reid said of this week’s game against the Packers, via Adam Teicher of ESPN.com.

“I don’t think you put a timeline on this,” Reid said. “You go off how he feels and what the doctors say.”

Burkholder said Mahomes’ MRI turned out “as good as we could imagine,” the story said. Over the weekend there were conflicting reports with Ian Rapoport saying more like 3-5 weeks, which would include the team's Week 9 bye, while Adam Schefter reported he could be back before three weeks has passed.
