Chargers agree on 4-yr contract with WR Robert Meachem.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the deal is worth $26 million, with $14 million guaranteed.
The 27-year-old Meachem was underutilized in New Orleans, but produced when given the opportunity. In fact, his 1.61 fantasy points per target was 6th amongst all WRs with at least 20 receptions in 2011. It wasn't a fluke since he finished 10th in the same category in 2010 (1.42 FP/target). Meachem will have to fight with Antonio Gates, Malcom Floyd and Vincent Brown for targets, but if he settles into a starting role, he should be a sneaky mid-round pick this summer.
