Chargers, RB Ryan Mathews Play Let's Make A Deal

The San Diego Chargers and first-round draft pick Ryan Mathews agreed to a five-year contract Sunday, sources told ESPN.com's John Clayton and Bill Williamson.

The 12th pick overall out of Fresno State, Mathews was San Diego's only draft pick who hasn't signed.

The players picked on either side of him, San Francisco's Anthony Davis and Philadelphia's Brandon Graham, both agreed to deals on Friday.

The running back, considered San Diego's heir apparent to LaDainian Tomlinson, is expected to share carries with Darren Sproles in the Chargers' backfield this season.

Fantasy Impact:

It's all systems go for Mathews to be a fantasy force in his first NFL season. He's currently at 13 in our rankings.
