Cardinals WR John Brown believes he'll be 'used more in underneath routes'

In all, Cardinals WR John Brown played the role of burner about as well as one could have, though he thinks he could emerge as the team's top option in the passing game this year.

"Coach Bruce Arians does a great job of calling plays, and it's actually designed for anybody to make plays and be that guy," he said. "Because it's just when the ball is in the air, you have to get it.

"And I think I'll be used more in underneath routes trying to turn and beat (the defense)."

Fantasy Impact:

Brown was the #49 receiver as a rookie and that's about where we have him ranked heading into the 2015 season. The main concern is his opportunity to find consistent playing time and targets behind Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd, though he did lead the team in targets (103) and averaged a solid 6.7 T/G with Carson Palmer in the lineup. Fitzgerald averaged 6.8 T/G while Floyd averaged just 5.0 T/G in those six games.

Chargers to sign RB J.K. Dobbins on one-year deal

Former Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins is planning to sign with the #Chargers on a one-year deal. Electric when healthy, Dobbins — who averages 5.8 yards per carry in his career — reunites with OC Greg Roman and can hit the market again in March.

Fantasy Impact:

Dobbins has had poor injury luck in his career, but has only managed 234 total rushes since being drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. This is a low-risk, high-reward move by the Chargers and might give them a runway to wait a little longer in the '24 Draft before they address the position.

Cowboys sign RB Royce Freeman

The Cowboys have signed running back Royce Freeman to a one-year deal. Freeman had 319 yards on 77 carries with 2 touchdowns last year for the Los Angeles Rams. He was 3rd round pick of Denver in '18.

Fantasy Impact:

Freeman hasn't rushed for 500 yards since 2018, his rookie season. This shouldn't have any impact on the team drafting at the position and/or bringing back Ezekiel Elliott.

The Eagles have paid another big-time, rising player. This time, WR DeVonta Smith gets a 3-year, $75M contract extension that includes $51M guaranteed.
