Buffalo Bills notes

The job of starting Bills quarterback is an open competition and head coach Chan Gailey even stated that rookie seventh-round pick Levi Brown will have a chance to be a factor in the race for the job. QB Brian Brohm got a head start in repping the offense on the field during rookie minicamp as he received the lion’s share of the snaps over the course of those five practices.

Gailey has made no secret that top pick RB C.J. Spiller will be lining up in a lot of different places come September. He’s unlikely to be a full-time running back, especially with veteran ball carriers like RB Fred Jackson and RB Marshawn Lynch fully capable of handling that load.

With WR Lee Evans the only proven wideout on the roster the depth chart at receiver is likely to be in a state of flux right up until training camp. Going into OTAs the leading candidates to line up opposite Lee Evans are third-year receivers James Hardy and Steve Johnson. Chad Jackson and Felton Huggins are also part of the competition. Roscoe Parrish is expected to be the primary slot receiver.

Fantasy Impact:

With the QB situation up in the air and a trio of running backs looking for carries, the Bills don't offer a lot of fantasy attraction here, just yet anyway. Lee Evans could be a solid receiver, but probably not even a guy you want to start every week. It would be nice to see one of the RBs take over a more primary role, so it's something to keep an eye on this summer.
