Bill O’Brien talks up Duke Johnson

During his Saturday press conference, Houston Texans’ head coach Bill O’Brien praised newly acquired running back Duke Johnson, saying he is “good in the run game, good in the pass game.”

Fantasy Impact:

Johnson was at practice Saturday but was not dressed. It obviously makes sense to shine a positive light on a player your team traded a mid-round draft pick for, but Johnson showcased very good skills in all aspects during his time in Cleveland and just became a victim of the numbers game. Lamar Miller will continue to get looks, but Johnson is going to be a factor in this offense and will eat into some of Miller’s work, especially in the passing attack. Johnson should also feel a lot happier now that he received his wish to be traded from the Browns, so a new setting could be very refreshing for him. Both back provide good value in this offense. Both rank just outside the top 30 in our PPR rankings for running backs and both are worthy of flex plays.
