Bernard Pierce out 4-5 months after shoulder surgery

Ravens backup running back Bernard Pierce underwent successful right shoulder surgery today at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia to repair his rotator cuff, his agent told The Baltimore Sun.

Pierce is expected to require four to five months of rehabilitation and is expected to make a full recovery.

Fantasy Impact:

People are writing off Ray Rice after his dreadful 3.1 YPC, but Pierce was actually worse (2.9 YPC) which makes us wonder if the line/scheme deserves a good amount of blame for the team's rushing woes. Regardless, the Ravens have said they may move to more of a RBBC in 2014. Pierce should be ready to play by training camp.
